The holidays can be a stressful time for some.

You’re trying to balance work, making plans to meet up with your family, and buying gifts for your loved ones. If your head is spinning, it’s understandable. Mine used to be, too. Here’s my suggestion, take a step back – and a deep breath, and realize you don’t have to do it all. A strategy called MashUp has been a guiding principle in my life and has allowed my entrepreneurial spirit to thrive, but not at the expense of the rest of my life.

MashUp is different from the philosophy of work-life balance due to its perspective that life is not static. Instead, it’s a recognition that your life is like an atom with protons and electrons constantly swirling in motion. Life is not a screenshot in time. It’s never frozen, so it can never truly be balanced. It’s dynamic and constantly shifting according to your season of life. In certain frames, you may look out of balance. But in reality, it’s about getting in sync with your own healthy rhythm and cadence that works best for you. Just like your genes, it’s unique to you.
