August 1, 2013. Courts will uphold terms agreed to in written signed contracts. As a result it is important that parties read agreements before signing the documents. The time to negotiate on terms is before you sign and you are bound. Parties cannot avoid terms of an agreement by simply failing to read the contract. If you do so and try and object to the terms at a later date your legal claim will be an uphill battle.
