February 26, 2014. Legislative Bill 749 to adopt the Model Business Corporation Act advanced from General File (the first of three stages of debate) to Select File (the second stage of debate). LB 749 would repeal the current Business Corporation Act and adopt the Nebraska Model Business Corporation Act, effective January 1, 2016. Legislative Bill 749 was introduced by Omaha attorney Senator Burke Harr, and was selected by the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee as one of two Committee Priority Bills.
