Are Your Basics Covered With Your Estate Plan

Many people do not even realize an estate plan includes essential documents that EVERYONE, even starting as early as college-age, should have.

Those essentials include:

  • Financial (or Durable) Power of Attorney. Noting who can make financial decisions for you in the event you are unable.
  • Health Care Power of Attorney. Noting who can make medical decisions for you in the event you are unable.
  • Living Will. Documenting your wishes in for end-of-life decision making and life-preserving treatment when a doctor has diagnosed you terminally and irreversibly incapacitated.
  • HIPAA Authorization. Noting who can have access to your health care information/records.

Whether you need additional estate planning strategies like a Will or a Trust can be determined upon a consultation with an estate planning attorney, but Goosmann Trust Law Counsel stresses the importance of the above essentials for everyone.

For questions or more information on estate planning options or to schedule your consultation, contact Goosmann Trust Law Counsel at (855) THE-GLF1 or info@GoosmannLaw.com.
