Goosmann Law Firm Celebrates a Milestone as Iowa's First Private Law Firm to Become a Designated Blue Zone Worksite

Blue Zones Project® Sioux City announced Goosmann Law Firm as the first private law firm in Iowa to become a designated Blue Zones Worksite®.

To become a designated Blue Zones Worksite- Goosmann Law Firm had to commit to improving the long-term well-being of its employees and customers through the completition of the Blue Zones Project Personal Pledge and at least one pledge from each of the 6 sections in the Blue Zones Project Worksite pledge. These categories include: leadership, habitat/physical environment, engagement/creation of social networks, policies and benefits, and well-being solutions.  Some of Goosmann’s accomplishments are completing a strength finder assessment for all employees, up to 2 hours paid time off per week to volunteer, weekly lunch walking club, and creation of a space for employees to use for quiet or personal time.

 In order to complete this lengthy process, attorney Chris Barondeau, had to provide examples from each category whether it be photos of the stairwell or copies of the employee handbook.

 Chris Barondeau says, “When I heard about Goosmann Law Firm pledging to become a Blue Zones Worksite I was more than willing to take on this responsibility. I believed in their mission to create a work atmosphere that inspires, encourages, and promotes well-being in the workplace and throughout Sioux City.”

 Barondeau has taken the Blue Zone Project to heart, as he recently accomplished a personal pledge of taking a personal day to climb the Loess Hills.

 “The Blue Zones Project team couldn’t be more excited Goosmann Law Firm has taken the initiative to become a designated Blue Zones Worksite,” said Blue Zones Project Consultant Chris Liberto.  “By completing the designation process, GLF has demonstrated its commitment to improving the health and well-being of its employees.”
