Goosmann Law Firm, PLC Attorney Jeana Goosmann will be a guest speaker at the Sioux City Growth Organization’s (SCGO) third annual Innovation Market, set for February 26, 2013. The organization was started in 2002 and works to encourage young professionals to be active in the Siouxland community. SCGO supports progressive ideas and works to create a positive impact for the future, offering insight as to what Sioux City has to offer in order to attract and retain young professionals. The Innovation Market is Siouxland’s only business idea competition. It is about cultivating business ideas, big or small, from inception to reality.

Jeana represents and advocates for the Siouxland community. She successfully recruited some of her legal team to return to the area, which brought young professionals back to the Sioux City area. Jeana renovated the historic Lerch building in downtown Sioux City, formerly home to Flood Music. This revitalized property had remained empty for a number of years.

Jeana is recognized as a leader both in the legal community and in the Siouxland area. Jeana served as the President of the Iowa State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division in 2009- 10. Jeana received the 2010 Arabella Mansfield Award in recognition of her efforts promoting women in the legal profession. Jeana is as a Past Chair of Women United, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to support Siouxland youth. Jeana was also honored with the 2012 Young Women of Excellence Award, provided by the nonprofit group Women Aware for her determination to reach ambitious goals.
