Are You Paying Attention to OSHA Standards?

For employers who have machinery, moving parts and electrical hazards, you need to pay attention to OSHA standards governing procedures you need to have in place, including employee training, on lockout/tagout for such equipment. A frozen bread-maker exposed workers to amputation and electric shock hazards down in Little Rock, Arkansas, recently and received a proposed fine of $47,000 involving 14 alleged violations, including 2 repeat violations and 9 serious violations. The employer also exposed employees to exposed electrical wiring. It is important for employers to audit for OSHA compliance and to make sure you have written policies and procedures in place to train employees on workplace hazards.
