In addition, it provides updates in construction law, including recent case law in Louisiana holding that an arbitration award must be confirmed by a district court before the doctrine of *res judicata* may apply to bar a subsequent arbitration proceeding, and recent case law in Ohio addressing the role of the arbitrator in determining the legal effect of a settlement agreement entered into in conjunction with an arbitration.
