Jeana Goosmann, CEO & Managing Partner of the Goosmann Law Firm, is pleased to announce that Attorney and CPA Maggie L. Simonson has joined the firm at their Spirit Lake, Iowa location. Her areas of practice include tax law, business law, and estate planning.

As a dually licensed attorney and CPA, Simonson’s practice extends into business law and taxation, including the crucial aspect of estate planning to minimize estate tax.  She works diligently with business leaders and executives to bridge the gap between their legal team and financial advisors to provide concise and straight forward tax planning to help her clients achieve the most tax advantageous consequences in complex transactions and estate planning. Simonson will help her clients navigate through the process of audits and tax controversies.

Simonson’s previous experience in public accounting as a CPA allows her to see beyond the legal aspects of estate planning and transactions and work side-by-side with tax and financial advisors to achieve her client's goals.

Simonson received her Juris Doctor from The University of Iowa College of Law School. She is a Member of the Iowa State Bar Association, the Iowa Society of CPAs, and the American Academy of Attorney-CPAs. She was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers® 2021 - Ones to Watch – Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law.  Simonson is licensed to practice in Iowa.
