The Goosmann Law Firm is disappointed that the Iowa Supreme Court circumvented the jury’s findings and held the actual malice element had not been met in a political defamation case. “We hoped that this case would send a message to politicians that the public deserves truthful information about candidates for political office,” said Jeana Goosmann of Goosmann Law Firm. The firm is analyzing filing for certiorari in the United States Supreme Court.
