Jeana Goosmann, CEO and Managing Partner of the Goosmann Law Firm, welcomes attorney Maurice Johnson as he joins their team at their Sioux City Law Firm.

Johnson focuses his practice on helping business executives navigate complex transactions. His practice areas include transactional, corporate, employment, business law, construction, real estate, contract tribal law, tribal economic development and gaming, land-use, regulatory, and municipal law.

As a Sioux City attorney, Johnson joins the firm with substantial experience representing clients in business transactions. Over the past 22 years, he has advised Tribal governments and their businesses, negotiated a myriad of legal agreements on their behalf, and helped them establish corporations and LLC’s. In addition, his vast experience includes representing clients in complex contracts. Most recently, he served as the Attorney General for the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, during which he and a team of attorneys successfully represented the Tribe before the U.S. Supreme Court in a case involving reservation diminishment.

Goosmann says, “I am thrilled to have Maurice on our team. His extensive experience will be invaluable to our business and tribal law clients as they conduct complex business transactions. He exudes a commitment to excellence shared by our Firm.”

Johnson received his Juris Doctor from Creighton University of Law and is licensed to practice law in both Iowa and Nebraska. He joins Sioux City lawyers and Sioux Falls attorneys Jeana L. Goosmann, Anthony Osborn, Emilee Boyle Gehling, Marie H. Ruettgers, Bruce M. Smith, Breandan Donahue, Christopher R. Barondeau, Elizabeth M. Lally, Cesar A. Juarez, and Dave Crary.

“I’m proud to join such a dynamic and talented team,” says Johnson. “I’ve always focused on growing and evolving as an attorney in order to meet the needs of my clients, and I know that my fellow Goosmann attorneys share this focus.”
