Goosmann Law Firm is pleased to announce Partner Elizabeth M. Lally has been appointed a Subchapter V, Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Trustee by the United States Department of Justice. As a Subchapter V, Chapter 11 Trustee, Ms. Lally will have the opportunity to monitor the business operations and expenses of select businesses who have filed for Subchapter V bankruptcy protection as well as working with debtors in possession, secured lenders and other creditors to build consensual plans of reorganization.  Ms. Lally’s territory is Region 12, which includes parts of Iowa and South Dakota.

Ms. Lally is a complex banking litigator and banking/bankruptcy practice area leader at the Goosmann Law Firm. She has experience representing Chapter 11 debtors, Chapter 7 and 11 Trustees, secured creditors, and unsecured creditor committees, and enjoys helping her clients navigate the often difficult world of corporate insolvency and restructuring.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lally was special litigation counsel to the Chapter 7 Panel Trustee in one of the largest cattle Ponzi schemes in the history of the United States. Ms. Lally also served as counsel to the Chapter 7 Trustees for the only two bank holding company bankruptcies filed in Indiana during the Great Recession—In Re: Irwin Financial Corporation and In Re: Integra Bank, N.A.

Ms. Lally is licensed to practice in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana.
