Goosmann Law Nominated for Department of Defense Freedom Award

The Goosmann Law Firm was a 2016 Nominee for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award granted by the Department of Defense. 

The Freedom Award for which the firm was nominated, is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve. On August 26th, Dr. Terry Murrell with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and Western Iowa Tech Community College President presented the award nomination to Jeana Goosmann and the firm.

Chris Barondeau, divorce and family law attorney at the firm, currently serves in the Nebraska Army National Guard as the Commander of HHD, 126th Chemical Battalion.  Chris has served in the military for over 14 years and was deployed to Iraq in 2004 where he operated a vehicle used to locate roadside bombs.  Barondeau is a solid advocate for his clients, and his military experience has prepared him to be your advocate in stressful situations.

The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award was created to publicly recognize employers who provide exceptional support to their Guard and Reserve employees. The award was instituted in 1996 under the auspices of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

Nominations for the award must come from a Guard or Reserve member who is employed by the organization they are nominating, or from a family member. A national selection board comprised of senior Defense officials and business leaders select the award recipients.
