Goosmann Law recently prevailed in another appellate case, this one before the Iowa Court of Appeals.  In the lawsuit, Goosmann Law’s client sued to enforce a promissory note against debtors who claimed the promissory note had been released through a prior mortgage satisfaction.  The debtors also countersued for alleged violations of Iowa’s Consumer Credit Code.  The trial court ruled in the debtors’ favor.  On appeal, attorneys Anthony Osborn and Marie Ruettgers prevailed, as the Court of Appeals ruled that the Consumer Credit Code did not apply and further ruled that the debtors’ promissory note was not released through the prior mortgage satisfaction.
