Local attorney Bridget Bailey of the Goosmann Law Firm, was recently appointed to the Agricultural Law Council of the Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) by Dwight Dinkla, Executive Director of the Iowa State Bar Association.  The ISBA Agricultural Law Council is comprised of a select group of 12 Iowa attorneys that represent an ISBA constituency of over 8,000 members.

Bailey, along with her Council members, is tasked with reviewing agricultural legislation and proposing new legislation or the repeal of undesirable laws; keeping the Iowa State Bar Association informed of new developments in the agricultural law arena and enabling ISBA members to practice effectively in the agricultural law field.  During her term, Bailey will also attend scheduled Council meetings, foster relationships with attorneys throughout the state and may speak at various public forums on various agricultural law topics.

Bailey is originally from rural Everly, Iowa.  She earned her Juris Doctorate at Drake University, where she also obtained a Food and the Law Certificate to compliment her degree.  After many years of practicing complex civil litigation with a large Minnesota law firm, Bailey, her husband and son moved back to Spencer where she currently maintains a general legal practice and a specific interest in Agricultural and Banking and Finance law. Bailey is an attorney with the Goosmann Law Firm, which has offices in Spencer, Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Fargo.
