Attorney Jeana Goosmann argued an appeal in front of the Iowa Supreme Court on Thursday, January 23, 2014 for the Bertrand v. Mullin and the Iowa Democratic Party . The appeal was from a jury verdict in defamation of Goosmann's client, Rick Bertrand, during a political advertising campaign. The jury awarded Rick Bertrand $231,000 against the Iowa Democratic Party and Rick Mullin in 2012.
