March 4, 2014. I am always looking for ways to improve my pretrial practice and in-court techniques. This past week, I ran across an article discussing some tips for trial attorneys which I found relevant and decided to share. The article, which can be found here, addresses motions in limine, jury questionnaires, opening statements, the use of animations/graphics, and closing arguments. I especially want to echo two points in the article - be careful to avoid an overly long opening statement and, as a default practice, walk the jury through the verdict form during your closing argument.
