The Goosmann Law Firm has been nominated for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. Attorney Chris Barondeau, who serves in the Nebraska Army National Guard, nominated the Firm. Prior to graduation from the Creighton University School of Law, Barondeau was informed that the military commission he accepted would require him to be away for 5 months. This posed an issue for him looking for a full-time law job in the civilian sector. With full knowledge of Barondeau’s upcoming leave, the Goosmann Law Firm was drawn to his military experience and hired him as a full-time associate attorney in part, because of his military background. The Firm embraces the skill set that Barondeau has achieved through the military and is committed to showing full appreciation for his military service.
The United States Government bestows the Freedom Award to employers who display outstanding support of their employees that serve in the Guard or Reserve. It is only these members of the Guard and Reserve, and their families, whom are eligible to nominate employers for this award. Supportive employers with a sense of goodwill are what allow the United States Government to retain exceedingly skilled and qualified members of the Guard and Reserve. The Freedom Award is given to distinguish these employers. The Goosmann Law Firm is honored to employ a member of the military as well as support employees with military families.
