March 25, 2014. The National Ag Day program was started in 1973 by the Agriculture Council of America, a nonprofit organization composed of leaders in the agriculture, food and fiber communities dedicated to increasing the public awareness of agriculture's vital role in our society. National Ag Day 2014 marks the 41st anniversary of National Ag Day, which is celebrated in classrooms and communities across the country. The theme for Ag Day 2014 is “365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed.”
The goal of National Agriculture Day is to promote the concept that that every American should:
- Understand how food, fiber and renewable resource products are produced.
- Value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy.
- Appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products.
- Acknowledge and consider career opportunities in the agriculture, food, fiber and renewable resource industries.
By raising awareness of the vital role agriculture plays in America’s economy, and society, citizens will be more informed and better equipped to participate in establishing the policies that will support a competitive agricultural industry in this country and abroad. Additionally, a greater awareness of the Ag industry will serve to inform people of the numerous and diverse employment opportunities that exist across the board in agriculture.
Please join Goosmann Law Firm in thanking all those involved in the Agricultural community for their dedication and commitment to ensuring America’s Ag industry is second to none.
