January 16, 2014. A University of Iowa track director filed a lawsuit against the university for gender discrimination. The male faculty member alleges that he was passed over for an assistant in favor of a female colleague. According to the male director and applicant, who had been filling the position on an interim basis, his supervisor had joked that he should undergo a sex change operation to improve his prospects.
