July 10, 2014. Attorney Chris Barondeau was recently appointed to the Agricultural Law Section Council with the Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA). Barondeau will serve a three-year term on the council with 12 other attorneys throughout the state of Iowa.

Following a two day trial in Sioux City, Iowa, Goosmann Law Firm, PLC defense team Anthony Osborn and Chris Barondeau won a complete defense verdict on behalf of the co-executor of an estate which contained, among other assets, substantial farmland. The plaintiff contested the will, alleging lack of testamentary capacity and undue influence. The judge ruled that the Plaintiff failed to prove her case and upheld the last will and testament. Commenting on the full defense verdict, Attorney Jeana Goosmann responded “Excellent legal victory. Goosmann Law is proud to uphold the last will and testament in this contentious farm estate. As the value of farmland rises, so are will contests in Iowa.”
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach along with other organizations presented a wind and solar energy conference at the Sioux City Convention Center, located in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. The conference touched on numerous topics and featured key industry officials. Iowa’s renewable energy industry is growing at a fast pace and the conference explored current advancements in the industry.
Goosmann Law Firm, PLC Attorney Chris Barondeau attended the South Dakota Biotech Association's 7th Annual Biotech Summit and Annual Meeting yesterday in Sioux Falls, SD. The summit featured topics on animal and plant science, renewable energy and human health. Panel discussions were held on numerous topics featuring members of various Biotech companies and organizations.
June 6, 2012. The Goosmann Law Firm congratulates Sabre Industries, Inc. for the closing of the Southbridge Business Park deal, an $18 million expansion located on the southern edge of Sioux City. Sabre Industries, Inc. will develop 150 acres of land in the Southbridge Business Park, and has negotiated beneficial government incentives. Sabre Industries, Inc. will construct a new industrial seven-building campus with manufacturing, offices and outdoor storage. Sabre Industries, Inc. will create an additional 192 full-time jobs, doubling the company's workforce in Sioux City. Sioux City beat out numerous cities and states for this project, which is a significant investment in the Sioux City community.
