The Goosmann Law Firm is proud to announce that its CEO and Managing Partner, Jeana Goosmann and Attorney Elizabeth M. Lally will both present at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 37th Annual Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute Conference October 26-27th in Kansas City.

Goosmann is proud to serve as an advisory board member and to have helped develop this year’s conference, which will include over a dozen bankruptcy, district, and appellate judges in attendance and include sessions on today’s most relevant bankruptcy specific topics including appeals, fraud, and ethics.

Jeana Goosmann will moderate an outstanding panel on the “Practical Ethical Pitfalls in Chapter 11 Representations” on Thursday, October 26th.  The panel will discuss common ethical issues facing practitioners in a Chapter 11 case. 

Elizabeth M. Lally will also present on the unique ethical considerations of social media facing today’s bankruptcy attorneys on Friday, October 27th.  Lally’ s session, “Litigators Behaving Badly: Ethics and Trial Tactics” will feature an in-depth discussion of what to do when you are in the middle of “Litigators Gone Wild” while still maintaining your ethics and your cool.

Goosmann is a prolific speaker actively involved in numerous national and regional associations and achieving top marks as a national and state presenter at conferences including the American Bar Association, Annual Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute Conference, National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms, Iowa State Bar Association, Iowa State University Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, American Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division National Meeting, American Bar Association Law Practice Management Spring Meeting, and Prairie Family Business Association Annual Meeting. Goosmann is a former 2002 recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute's Outstanding Scholar Award and past Iowa State Bar Association Young Lawyer's Division President. She has achieved the Martindale AV-Rated Attorney for Legal Excellence and Ethics and was has been named a 2017, 2016, and 2015 Super Lawyer. 

Goosmann is the CEO’s Attorney and personally acts as general counsel to company presidents, CEOs, and corporate executives. Her clients include large national corporations as well as local closely-held companies and family-owned businesses of all sizes. Goosmann has represented clients on Forbe’s billionaire’s list, Senators in trial, and companies involved in anti-trust class action, toxic tort, business fraud, piercing the corporate veil, adversary proceedings, mass product recall, breach of contract, explosion litigation and business torts. She is licensed to practice in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Lally is a complex litigation attorney. She is fluent in the language of bankruptcy and enjoys helping the Firm’s clients find creative solutions to complex business problems and commercial litigation. Lally represents banks and other lenders as plaintiffs or defendants in civil litigation and in their capacity as creditors navigating the often difficult world of corporate insolvency and restructuring. She also has extensive experience representing Bankruptcy Trustees and other creditors in suspected bankruptcy fraud investigations and all resulting litigation. Her vast knowledge of the world of business, banking, and bankruptcy help put her clients’ mind at ease knowing that their complex banking and business problems will be solved and put to rest. Lally is also a national lecturer on the many varied aspects of ESI and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model. She is licensed to practice in Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.
