Jeana Goosmann, CEO & Managing Partner of the Goosmann Law Firm, is pleased to announce that Divorce and Family Law Attorney Chris Barondeau has been named Partner at the Sioux City law firm.

Barondeau is both a lawyer and a soldier. He focuses his practice on divorce and family law and currently serves in the Nebraska Army National Guard as Commander of HHC of the 126th Chemical Battalion.

Barondeau joined the firm in 2011 after receiving his JD from Creighton University School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Chris was deployed to Iraq where he operated a vehicle used to locate roadside bombs.  Given this stressful work assignment, Barondeau has become a strong advocate for his family and divorce clients as they navigate their own individual minefields.

With more than 15 years of military service, Barondeau has a unique understanding of the challenges and difficulties facing current members and veterans of the Active Duty Military, as well as the National Guard and Reserves, when dealing with family law matters. His experience leaves him uniquely situated to assist veterans and active service members through difficult family law matters.

Barondeau strategically handles complex divorces, contested child custody matters, complicated asset and business divisions, adoptions, drafting of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and modifications of custody, alimony and child support orders. For professionals and business owners going through divorce, Barondeau is uniquely positioned with a broader set of capabilities imbedded in Goosmann’s full service business focused law firm to help navigate business valuations, personal guarantees, finance and accounting matters, and ongoing asset management issues.

Barondeau says, “I’m excited for the opportunity to grow with the firm through this partnership and continue providing my clients with the valuable legal advice and support that Goosmann Law offers.”

Barondeau is a member of the Family Law Section of both the Iowa and Nebraska State Bar Associations.  Additionally, Chris is active on a national level with the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section, where he serves on the Military Law Committee and is the Editor for the Committees’ bi-annual newsletter “Roll Call.”  Barondeau is licensed to practice in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

The Goosmann Law Firm is a full service law firm with locations in Sioux City, Iowa; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Omaha, Nebraska. To learn more about the Goosmann Law Firm, visit their website at www.GoosmannLaw.com or call (855) 843-4531.
